She later left for New York City to earn a Ph.D. in Art History and then relocated to Hong Kong, where she taught at various universities. While in New York, Debbie curated and wrote the catalogue for the multi-media exhibition: \u00abSMIRK: women, art, and humor\u00bb (2001). Her published works include several pieces regarding the 1970s, Carnivalesque Unruliness, and Performance Art. Concomitantly, Debbie has immersed herself in the life-altering study of the Enneagram (a profound system of personality typing) and has completed the training to serve as a Reiki Channel (a giver of healing energy). \u00a0She has retuned to California where she\u00a0is finishing her book,\u00a0<em>Subversive Humor: The 1970s Performance Art of Hannah Wilke, Eleanor Antin, and Adrian Piper,<\/em>\u00a0and is teaching at the university level.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #666699;\">Debbie Wacks pas\u00f3 sus a\u00f1os de formaci\u00f3n en Los \u00c1ngeles.
